To Adrienne's knowledge, GAM Arts Center had closed recently and REACH LA had to locate a new venue for their ball function. The Facebook event description reads as "For young men HIV is scary. REACH LA’s mission is to educate young men of color to eliminate the stigma and horror of HIV. OVAHNESS 8: The Haunting is about educating young men of color that they do not have to live in fear of HIV if they are educated about the virus, use protection and get tested regularly. OVAHNESS BALL 8: The Haunting! Get ready for a nightmare that may save your life." Young people received free admission to the event if they took a free HIV test at REACH LA, a recurring feature of each Ovahness Ball.
